And Then.......Reality Set In....

Seems like yesterday everything was "normal" and the biggest problem I had was "which one do I get the kids for Christmas? An XBox or a Wii". Now I'm all like...."HOLY SHIT MY EX LOST HIS JOB!!" My main source of income was child support, and now I'm not even sure when and if I'm going to be getting any. I am not working full-time just yet because Lo isn't in school and we couldn't afford preschool or daycare, so we decided that I would stay in the house and live off the child support until she was in kindergarten. Now it looks like we're going to have to figure something out. I know what you're saying right now..."Your ex isn't working, make him watch Lo while you work!". I wish it were that easy. He was in the radio business for 20 years and he was very, very popular. Right now he's trying to figure out where he wants to be, he's meeting with people every other day and he's working on putting together a demo to send out to radio stations and agents. So yeah, he's not just sitting on his ass. We're hoping he isn't out of work for too long.

So for now I'm just trying to keep my hopes up and not worry too much. Worrying never solved a damn thing. I started working on my photography website last week. Very hard to do at home because my computer is trying to die on me. NOT YET, COMPUTER!! NOT! YET! After I get the website looking halfway decent I'm going to make up some cards to pass out. So yeah, anyone need a photographer? Will shoot for food. ;)

I'm Raising A Mad Scientist......Or A Future Bomb Expert

Lex has always loved hands on experiments. Now that he's "all grown up and a man now" he want to try new things. His goal for the Summer is to do experiments that "explode". He says "But don't worry, Mom!! It's ok. I know what I'm doing!!". Visions of my house in flames and the fire fighter's trying to save what they can flashed through my mind and right then and there I knew I had to do something. So we got him all kinds of science sets that are safe. A science kit that makes candy, another one that makes goo and dough and things like that. He likes them, but he still talks about making things explode. -_- More of a concern now is that he likes to sit with the iPad and look at YouTube videos on how to make things......things like laser lighters. No, I am not kidding. Watch the video! I was spittin' mad at my husband for letting him watch things like that in the first place!. I mean, damn!!! The boy is sharp and a quick learner!! Look at what I caught him doing the other day.........

That's right, folks. The boy was trying to open this battery to get what was in it out to start making his laser lighter. ((sigh)) This is dangerous. So not only do I have to worry about him blowing things up I also have to worry about him making a laser and possibly destroying the earth. Lovely. He's a cute little Mad Scientist though......

Ok, so I threw that middle one in just because it cracks me up. LOL!!!

Is It Too Late To Trade My Teenager In For A Chihuahua?

My teenager came right out and asked me how long her and her boyfriend had to be together before he could spend the night. I could not believe what I was hearing. Had she hit her head? Gone insane? Grown a set when I wasn't looking? WTF was going on?! At first I thought she had to be joking. She knows the rules!! I'm strict!! So I kinda laughed out loud, then gave her the look. The "I'm dead serious" look. This is how the conversation went......

ME: "That would be a big fat never. I don't care how old you are, no boys sleeping over. Ever. Don't even ask."

CRAZY PERSON: "But XXXXX's Mom lets her boyfriend sleep over!!"

ME: "And XXXX's Mom has clearly lost her mind as well. Luckily I'm still sane, so that won't ever happen"

CRAZY PERSON: "What if I'm 18? You can't tell me what I can and can't do."

ME: "See, that's where you're wrong. If you're 18 and still living in MY house, the rules stay the same. No boys sleeping over. Ever. Feel free to get a job, your own place and then have as many boys sleep over YOUR place as you want....when you're 18, of course."

CRAZY PERSON: "I wasn't really asking if he could sleepover like tonight, I was just wondering if you'd ever let him"

ME: "Wonder no more....never gonna happen, kiddo."

I would like to know who in the Hell let's their 15 year old daughter's boyfriend sleep over?! And where does he sleep? Am I too old fashioned? Is this not something new? Because I can sit here and honestly say that I was shocked. So now all I keep thinking is......what's next?! I'm scared.
