Baby Food

For a while there I was making my own baby food for Lola. Then she got sick and wasn't eating and a lot of it went bad. So now I buy the organic jar baby food. She loves it. But then I found this site.......

:: FIFIBEARS ::

I think I may try their stuff. Some of it sounds yummy!!!!!! I'll let you know how Miss. Gluttony 2009 likes it. LOL!!!

Who Would Have Thunk?!?!

My friend sent me a message about another friend of hers who's child was having issues with development for YEARS. Here's what she wrote......

so i was talking to one of my friends on line last night whose 5 year old boy. He has been having really bad problems with his ears, balance and a few other things. He was put in the Early Intervention Program because of the cognitive and physical delays. I've know her for a bit on myspace and her little one has been having ear and sinus problems forever now.

She said he had an operation the other day and she has already seen so much improvement.

I wanted to send you part of the letter she sent me in hopes that maybe some of the info might be able to help Lola. Here is part of what she wrote me.....

"We didn't know he was having issues with tonsils per se. He was doing so poorly last year with cognitive skills, I held him back from Kindergarten and he''s been in an IEP program at preschool for developmental delays, but he recently began complaining about not being able to hear well. He always gets ear/sinus infections, so I had taken him to a specialist and had further hearing evaluations done, which was showing significant hearing loss.

He's always breathed extremely loud, which just seemed "normal" to us, but when she checked him, he had what she called "kissing tonsils" in that they're always swollen and rubbing together, and causing him to labor during breathing even on his best days.

Between the breathing difficulty, the infections leading to hearing loss and probably contributing to his speech and balance issues, we decided to go ahead and remove the tonsils and have tubes put in his ears. I swear, within minutes of the surgery, he was speaking so much clearer, breathing so much easier, and everything is taking a turn for the better quickly, so I'm excited about the progress in just a couple weeks' time"

I don't know if any of that info helps but I just want to help Aedan's baby girl feel better.

O_O Seriously?! I would have never thought of that. Her doctor said that she is delayed, but she normally wouldn't be concerned at this age, it's the fact that she WAS doing things normally....rolling, pushing up on her arms and trying to pull up, then it all just STOPPED when she got sick. First "real" sickness. So we're going to see a neurologist and see what she says. When I took her in on Tuesday her doctor said she wants her to see a Ear, Nose, Throat specialist because the ear infections have been so close together which means she might need tubes. I said I wanted to wait. Well NOW I don't want to. I want to have her seen ASAP!! I really, really hope it's the ears. I hate that she is always sick with ear infections and I was hoping it was seasonal, but regardless.....I should have her seen no matter WHAT it is. :)

Wish us luck!!

Back To Normal......AGAIN!!

Let's just hope it stays this way! I do NOT want Lola to get another ear infection. They suck. Big time. I do NOT want Lex to get ANOTHER severe cold. They suck, too. We all slept till 8 this morning and I am so happy. Seriously happy!!!! I needed sleep in the worst way. SO now.....we get back to out "normal" everyday routine. :)

Sick Kids!

Raven is sick Lola is sick and Lex is just getting over being sick. ((sigh)) I was up ALL NIGHT with the girls If Lola wasn't harkin' up a lung, Raven was pukin' up her guts. Not fun for anyone involved. I broke down and gave Lola something. I HAD to!! The kid could not stop coughing and it was phlegmy, too, so she gagged and threw up with each cough. I gave her a tiny drop of something, not going to say what cause I don't want any Mommies out there following my lead. Know what happened? Nothing happened, that's what! She did fall fast asleep and no coughing from 4 a.m. on. I gave her the meds at 3:30 after being up since 11 holding her and listening to her struggle. I will NOT let my kids suffer!! I never give her anything unless it's Tylenol or homeopathic, but there are times when you just HAVE to help them. SHe seems to be ok this morning. Coughing, but ok.

Raven was puking for almost an hour straight. I was running back and forth between the 2. You should have seen me!! I would wash up, antibacterial my entire upper body and then go into Lo's room. HILARIOUS!! I'm thinking that she may have an ear infection. She was saying the room was spinning and the throwing up IS a symptom of an ear infection. We'll see! I'm taking them both in today. :)

It Amazes Me.....

It amazes me that my baby will be 1 in just a few short weeks. Not because I’m all like…”WOW!! This glorious year has passed by so quickly! I feel like I haven’t had enough time with her”. No. That’s not it at all. I’m amazed that she has SURVIVED this long! What, with her Big Brother trying to kill her or just not really caring what he does or watching where he’s going. It’s a miracle she has survived this year. Just this morning he was walking towards me and just walked right over her face! O_O LEX!!!!! He just had no idea he did anything wrong. My poor baby was laying there screaming in obvious pain and he just kept on walking. And my husband just HAS to have another baby. I don’t think that baby would be so lucky. LOL!!!

I feel like I have actually done a good job at keeping Lola alive for this whole year. I breastfed her for almost a whole year, nearly 9 months! She’s grown into a very robust child and seems to be very happy. I have managed to keep her safe from Lex, for the most part. And last but not least……she loves me. Mission accomplished!!! Just take a look at the pretty little Lolita……..

LOL!! Doesn’t get any better than that!

Go Lola! GO!!!

Miss. Lola is all over the place. Just rolling, but she just keeps rolling. LOL! I can no longer just leave her laying on the floor while I do things around the house, I have to keep as many eyes on her as I can. I had this horrible feeling that she is going to just one night stand up in her crib and fall out, so I'm lowering it today!! It's been a blessing that she hasn't started walking and such just yet. What would I have done with BOTH of them running around my house destroying things?! I can wait for that. :)

Lex woke me up this morning by singing a song to me. He was singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star right in my ear. :) I love this age. He's just the cutest thing!!!!!

I didn't get to see Raven this morning before she left. :( She prefers it that way so I don't see the makeup she's wearing. -_- Teenagers! Worse than a 3 year old boy!!! I seriously don't know if we're going to make it to her 18th at this point. HAH!!

Boys And Their Privacies

Lex loves his "privacy". That's what we call his penis. He likes to share all sorts of details about it with me. Like..."Mommy, LOOK! It's growing again!!". -_- Or, this is my favorite, "Mommy.......I have a BIG privacy!! It's much bigger than Lola's!!" -_- LOL!! He just has no idea that Lola is NOT a boy. Some days he totally gets it, like when he says "she can only play with PINK!!" He watches me get dressed and knows that I'm a girl, but I think he doesn't really care what Lola is? You know? He helps me change her diaper and always says...."Aww! Cute bunnbunns. She has a cute bunnbunns". LOL!! He also likes to stick his privacy into things while in the tub, like cups and the frogs mouth. I think he's peeing in them. -GAG- But seriously......he loves it. I'm just hoping that he won't whip it out while we're outside playing with the girls. LOL!!!!!! I know Nancy would just love that!! LOL!! She would probably faint. HAH! I keep telling lex...."You shouldn't tell just anybody things about your privacy. Just me, Daddy and SisSis. Ok, maybe not SisSis, just me and Daddy. And please don't take it out when you're outside. Please?!" I think he gets it. I hope......O_O BOYS!!!

I Am BACK!!

I have my computer back, so I'll be updating more and more and more. :) It was such a pain to try to type on the iPod cause it's not that big and my fingers kept pushing the wrong buttons. ((sigh)) It's all over now and my Precious is home, safe and sound. LOL!!

Kevin took Lex to Brimfield Fair. It's a HUGE outdoor flea market that goes on for a whole week. He's out buying stuff for the house and yard. When he gets home I have to go grocery shopping. I should have gone with him, but I'm tired and just not in the mood to walk around pushing a stroller. :/

Lola is on the "pizza pillow", that's what Lex calls our papasan cushion. :) She sitting there watching Baby Galileo and "reading" one of her books. She LOVES books!!!! LOVES THEM! If I'm reading one she'll take it and study it. Very cute. :) Anyway. I'm off to shower and relax while the boys are out. :)

WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally forgot!! (DUH!) I've been trying to teach Lola how to sign "ALL DONE" and she totally gets it! But she does it HER way. She claps when she's all done eating. Hilarious. I told Kevin to NOT try to give her more after she's clapped because she will throw a shit fit and hit him. I had no idea she was signing "ALL DONE" HER WAY and I went to give her another spoon full and she got so angry with me, then slapped the spoon out of my hand. O_O She's a feisty one!! Must be that red hair. LOL!!!!

It's Tuesday

Which means I'm at work and have time for an update. Nothing has changed, the kids are great, the husband is fine and I'm doing well. Mother's Day was a very relaxed day. Kevin bought me 2 HUGE hanging pots for the porch filled with the most beautiful Lobelias I've ever seen. Vibrant and lush.....just gorgeous. And of course the new Sookie Stackhouse book. YAY!! Of course I got cards from all the kids and a handmade one from Miss. Raven. It almost made me cry!! She can be so sweet when she wants to be. LOL!! Kevin got me a card with music and Lex thought it was his. :) He did run around all day saying HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! to me. Very sweet. All in all a very quiet, relaxed day. My sister came over for a while, then she took my Mom home. That was nice, I didn't have to drive all the way to her new place. YAY!! That's all really. Very boring update, mainly because I'm at work and can't think straight. I really can't wait to get my computer back!! FRIDAY!!!!

Back To Normal?

Lola is finally getting back on track. Eating 3 meals a day and regular poops. She is still waking up every 4 hours to eat, which makes me think she's going through a growth spurt. I'm sure she'll be back to her normal sleeping through the night self real soon. At least Lex is sleeping till almost 9, which is great!! Lola usually sleeps straight through from 2-8, maybe getting up once between that. But from 10-3 is still not normal. At least I get a full 5 hours in. :) YAY for sleep!! LOL!!!

Temper!! Temper!!!!!!

My baby girl has a temper!! She wanted to eat and when I didn't pick her up right away she threw her teddy bear at me!!!!! Hahahaha! Lex and I were laughing so hard that he fell over and I couldn't breath. She us acting like a 1 year old now! LOL!!

Baby Update!

Lola! My baby will be 1 next month. Can you believe that?! Where has the time gone? I mean, I know that when I blink my children grow up, but I keep forgetting and I blink anyways. ((sigh)) That's ok. So here is what's going on with the Princess. Her Hemangioma is getting smaller. It's what they call a Compound Hemangioma, a tumor of blood cells underneath the skin and one smaller one on the surface. Her pedi told me that once the one under the surface started going away that it may be very fast and one day just *POOF*, be gone, then the surface one would slowly go away as well. It would take a little longer, but it would most likely go away on it's own. And it is. The bigger one under the skin is now gone. It's just GONE! I was holding her one day and put my hand on her face and realized it was no longer hot and it was soft!! YAY!!!!!! Imagine my relief!! Of course, I knew this would happen as soon as I signed her up for the Vascular Birthmark Clinic in Boston next month. You know kids just LOVE making liars out of their parents!! LOL!! So that's the good news. Now the not so good news.....

She is now into her 3rd round of antibiotics for double ear infections. This is 3rd infection she's had. She's going to be that baby. You know, the ear infection baby. o_O Again, high fever, vomitting and not sleeping. I'm beat! Now she's back to not eating solids. -_- I'm going to give Early Intervention a call tomorrow and see what they say. I know her pedi will gladly give us a referral even though she isn't at all concerned just yet. She's going ot be 1 next month and she won't even touch normal food. What about the cake?! She probably won't eat it. I have a feeling she'll be on formula till she's 18 months and I am NOT happy about that. -_- Maybe I'll get some answers soon. Hopefully I'm just being a little paranoid and they say..."Oh she's fine!! She's just a BIG baby and will catch up soon!" We'll see!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick Update!

No computer for another 2 weeks!!!! Aaack!!! Good news......Lola's Hemangioma is going away!!!!! YAY!!! More on that tomorrow when I can really update.
